About us
We transform the swimming learning experience.
Our philosophy
At Swim ‘N Joy, our mission is to transform the swimming learning experience. For this we created Swimfulness, a method where each child can learn and grow at their own pace, without pressures or comparisons.
Our approach focuses on cultivating enjoyment and connection with water, allowing each child to develop a positive and lasting relationship with the aquatic environment.
At Swim 'N Joy, we believe in the power of individuality and strive to foster a love of the water that transcends beyond swimming skills, giving each child the tools to explore, learn and enjoy of this wonderful aquatic experience.
Foundress
Florencia Burkman, founder of Swim ‘N Joy and creator of the Swimfulness method. With more than 20 years of experience as a certified swimming instructor in Argentina, the United Kingdom and the USA, she has guided more than 500 children, including her own.
«With Florencia, water becomes a source of joy and security. It's fun, empathetic and respectful approach to each child's rhythm reinforces their self-esteem and awakens a pleasure in learning that will accompany them throughout their lives. «
The pillars of the Swimming Method:
Security
We teach water safety by raising awareness about the perception that children have of themselves in that environment. Swimfulness promotes confidence and the development of skills progressively, avoiding the use of devices (floats) that generate a false perception of security. Independence should only occur when the child has the necessary skills. Constant supervision by adults is key to preventing accidents and ensuring a safe aquatic environment.
Respect
Teaching swimming should be understood as a process in which the natural rhythm of each child is respected, without imposing pressures or comparisons. Each child is unique and has his or her own pace at developing aquatic skills. Being aware of this, each student has their own goals and expectations. At Swimfulness we create an inclusive learning environment
Empathy
Empathy in teaching swimming helps us build a solid relationship between teacher and student. By validating children's emotions and fears we generate an environment of trust, tranquility and motivation, which makes the learning process much more effective and pleasant.
Fun
The playful atmosphere and enjoyment are fundamental elements for learning to swim, especially when it comes to the little ones. Entering the child's world is an invitation to understand their unique way of perceiving and experiencing the world, and adapt swimming teaching to their needs and characteristics. The playful environment becomes a facilitator of learning, since through play and fun a safe environment is created where the child feels motivated to explore and experiment in the water.
